ICONFIT Beta-Alanine is an amino acid, which is synthesized in the liver and can be ingested in the diet through animal-based foods like beef and chicken. Once ingested, beta-alanine combines with histidine within skeletal muscle and other organs to form carnosine. Beta-alanine promotes the synthesis of carnosine in the body, which helps to prevent the increase of acidity in the muscles during exercise and thus reduces the development of muscle fatigue. This way you can get the most out of your workout and achieve higher strength and endurance goals. Beta-alanine has been shown to enhance muscular endurance during high-intensity exercise lasting 1–10 minutes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Beta alanine helps the body produce carnosine, which acts as a buffer for natural lactic acid inside the muscle. As the amount of carnosine in the muscle increases, the muscle's ability to maintain a reasonable level of PH (acidity) increases. When you do a hard workout, it plays an even more important role in building muscle endurance and strength.
You might wonder then why not take pure carnosine instead of beta-alanine? Studies show that oral ingestion of carnosine gives absolutely no benefit and it must be produced by your own body – beta-alanine helps you do just that.
HOW TO USE: Take up to 2 tablespoons a day (total 1800mg). Take a 2-3 week break from consumption every 2-3 months. Do not exceed the recommended amounts.
